Who am I?

I was born in Monterrey, Mexico but raised in San Antonio, Texas. I am currently a freshman in college pursuing a Biomedical Engineering Career who is passionate about making a prosthetic that will be affordable and accessible to those that need them the most through the power of 3D printing! Ha, it would be funny if I said that in an evil voice. Nah.

I tend to get very excited when talking about my career, but I promise that’s not all there is to me. Just to name a few things, I …

  • Worked as a cake decorator
  • Played the violin for 7 years
  • Was part of a soccer team
  • Made lesson plans for elementary kids to learn Spanish
  • Was a professional dancer in Mexico

Okay, that last one is not true. I’m actually a terrible dancer. But unfortunately to your eyes, I love dancing. So, if you ever see me out there in the world at a dance floor and it looks like I’m having a leg cramp, just know I’m actually having the time of my life. Despite being in a science and math related career, I have always been drawn to the arts. Whether that is music, paintings, theater, I will find it fascinating. People can be so creative and its just amazing! On that note, I do try to have creative outlets throughout my day simply because I believe its something we should nurture specially if you are in a science and math major. On a different note, another aspect in my life I’ve been enjoying a lot lately is the process of getting fit, more specifically, weight lifting. It was the game changer for me and no I won’t look like a girl hulk, it is biologically impossible!

I would call myself many things, but the one thing I never thought I would be is a writer or blogger, yet here I am now. Life is funny, not so long ago I used to dislike writing. I even had to take the English AP test twice to get a passing grade! I was just bad with anything to do with writing. But then I started answering self reflection prompts which I decided to do to help me choose a major. After many prompts, I started appreciating writing. Granted, I will probably never be the next Kate Chopin (who by the way is my favorite author ), but I want you to know that I do enjoy what I’m doing and I just want you to find this blog useful. Also, I apologize in advance for any misspellings I don’t catch! Nonetheless, if you are reading the blog, thank you so much for your time and support 🙂
